Our initial ideas for the PX Series date back to 2014, and a decade later, we were very proud to introduce it to the EU market as the 3rd-level EXCURSION loudspeaker series. Our REFERENCE series was born relatively spontaneously, drawing on materials and design from neighboring series, thus elevating the PX Series to the 4th-level EXCURSION loudspeaker series. It soon became apparent that our original PX-1S tweeter design, with its tooling, resolution, speed, and character, harmonized even better with the now existing REFERENCE series. So, we decided to unbureaucratically combine what obviously belonged together in the next production run and understand where there was still room for improvement and for what PX is looking for.
The task of PX-1S in GEN2, or as we recently called it, PX-1SC for the COMP level already familiar from EXCURSION, was defined. The result is a velvety PX character with a 28mm silk dome driver that can be used almost across a wide range of frequencies and has the deepest coupling to the PX-6M midrange driver, resulting in the best stage imaging and live atmosphere in the vehicle. Here, too, we have implemented a diet program, avoiding unnecessary weight and inertia, relying on air cooling in the system and deliberately avoiding ferrofluid. Of course, as is usual with all small series, we could have packed everything in polished aluminum pots and wooden boxes, thereby multiplying the costs with a bit of YOU NOT NEED OR SEE after installation. Instead, we have placed our new PX-1SC in a blackened aluminum ring with a milled top, which, with our tried and tested PX hexagon grill, has its well-known recognition value. ALL YOU NEED is EXCURSION's philosophy. Within our Price Structure we don't have to produce small series and trust our customer to judge us after install @ result. This simply cause we love to get compared !!!
